Tom Rathman is coming back to the San Francisco 49ers! Rathman will be the new running backs coach after leaving the Oakland Raiders organization. Rathman interviewed for the position earlier today with coach Mike Singletary and general manager Scot McCloughan. Rathman takes over for Tony Nathan, whom Singletary fired after his only season on the 49ers’ staff.
Coach Singletary isn’t wasting any time to use his authority to fire and hire coaches. Look for the next hire to be an offensive coordinator which needs to be brought in soon.
