Oakland Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell was carted off the field Saturday after taking a blindside hit from San Francisco 49ers linebacker Travis LaBoy. Initial reports indicated Campbell had a stinger, a painful nerve injury. Campbell was acquired in the offseason to become the Raiders' starter. He was felled midway through the second quarter of the exhibition. He remained down for about five minutes before being helped to his feet. Franklin ended his lengthy holdout Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, by signing a franchise tag tender. Franklin passed a physical and officially signed the deal before the Niners played the Oakland Raiders in an exhibition game Saturday night. Franklin was going to watch that game before rejoining his teammates for practice next week.
