The 49ers have found their offensive coordinator and it is Mike Martz.  This might sounds like good news for Alex Smith and the receiving corps but will Frank Gore be happy with this move?  Martz has always been a pass happy coordinator.  I think Gore will see alot more screen passes and things of that nature under Martz offense.

Do you think Martz is the best guy the 49ers could get for the offensive coordinator position?  Will be battle it out with Coach Nolan like some reports have stated?  Let us know by leaving a comment!

San Francisco linebacker Patrick Willis has been named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year as he led the league in tackles with 174.  Willis is the fifth straight linebacker to win the award.  Willis received 48 of 50 votes for the award.  The only other player to get votes was Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason.

Hopefully this is something Willis and the 49ers can use to grow on.  They need to become a better overall team for the 2008 season.

Cam Cameron was fired as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins Thursday morning.  Could Cameron’s next stop be in San Francisco as the offensive coordinator?  That is one name that I am heading this morning as I read reports and rumors.

Another name being thrown around for the 49ers O.C. job is Chan Gailey.  Gailey has been the head coach at Georgia Tech for the last five seasons.

One person I do not want to see mentioned anymore or is Brian Billick for the offensive coordinator spot.  No way, No way!

What do you all think?  Is Cameron the head guy the 49ers should go after?

Mike Nolan will be returning to the the sidelines next year as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.  Nolan will however not have total control over the team.  Newly appointed general manager Scot McCloughan will help out Nolan with some decisions.

Nolan did fire offensive coordinator Jim Hostler who was never able to get the 49ers offense going all season.  Anytime you are down to your fourth string quarterback you aren’t going to have good numbers on the offensive side of the ball.

We have not heard any names at this time about a new offensive coordinator but will make a post once we start hearing some names.
